Apple to reportedly launch ‘iPhone 5S’ and cheaper iPhone in August:
Apple (AAPL) has plans to launch multiple new iPhone models this summer, according to a new report. Citing claims made by Barclays Capital analysts, Chinese-language tech blog EMSOne reported on Friday that Apple will launch its next-generation "iPhone 5S" alongside the much rumored low-end iPhone model this coming August. The report claims that both Foxconn and Pegatron will be tasked with manufacturing the new entry-level iPhone, which may include a 4.5-inch display and a polycarbonate case according to an earlier report. Apple's iPhone 5S will supposedly feature a design similar to the current iPhone 5 but with various new color options and other tweaks.

New Apple patent filing shows dual-iPad notebook & magnetic iPad stand:

Apple has filed a patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to do some new things with the iPad, including a dual-iPad notebook and a magnetic iPad stand for cars, treadmills, and more.
The patent application, first spotted by Patently Apple, was filed back in August 2011 and details “a way for securely attaching a tablet device to a stand where it can be removed and replaced with ease.” As the iPad sometimes hard to mount and easily remove it from that mount, a magnetic stand specifically for the iPad could open it up new uses.
One of the most interesting uses for the magnetic attachment would be for attaching two iPads. Once together, two iPads could be used for reading books, playing games, and things we haven’t thought of yet. The idea is reminiscent of Microsoft’s failed Courier project.
Outside of the dual-iPad concept, the magnetic stand is also shown off inside of a car, on top of a treadmill, and being used as a music stand. Additionally, there’s a drawing of an iPad being used on an all-purpose stand that might be good for photographers, restaurants, and more.

BlackBerry (BBRY) is at the start of a very long haul as the struggling smartphone maker attempts to stage a comeback for the ages. Early sales of the company's first next-generation BlackBerry 10 smartphone appeared strong, but a series of subsequent claims suggested limited supply was responsible for many of the BlackBerry Z10 stock-outs being reported in the United Kingdom and Canada. We now know Z10 sales to date are likely nothing to scoff at, however — BlackBerry's Z10 is outselling the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S III at a major Canadian retailer — and BGR has confirmed an even more important indicator of BlackBerry's early success: Half of BlackBerry Z10 sales in Canada and one-third of UK sales have been made to users coming from other platforms.
