Windows 8 expected to take up 5-8% of global tablet shipments in 2013, say Taiwan makers
Windows 8 expected to take up 5-8% of global tablet shipments in 2013, say Taiwan makers: Possibly because Microsoft has lowered licensing rates for Windows 8 for use in tablets, many vendors are developing Windows 8 tablets for launch in the second half of 2013, and thus the operating system is expected to account for 5-8% of all tablets shipped globally in 2013, equivalent to a volume of 10-20 million units, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers.
