One year ago bTendo and STMicroelectronics announced an agreement to jointly develop the world's smallest MEMS-based Laser-Beam-Steering projector for mobile devices, and at MWC 2012 they have shown a prototype projector and module, saying we can expect smartphones that integrate this projector to appear in 2013. Today we present photos of the new module and projector prototype, and also some detail information from bTendo.
The new module is 1.7cc in volume (5mm high). It features 720p resolution (1280x720) and 12 lumens of brightness. It uses green direct lasers diodes. In the photo above you can see the light module, I think this does not include the electronics.
