Touch panels for Windows 8 devices to start shipping in 3Q12: On the heels of Intel's announcement at Computex Taipei 2012 that its upcoming ultrabooks designs will support touch panels, market observers predict that demand for 13.3- to 15.6-inch touch panels for ultrabooks is set to boom starting in the third quarter of 2012. Intel also announced agreements with several leading touch-panel suppliers including Cando, HannsTouch, TPK and Wintek to demonstrate its support for Windows 8 ultrabooks based on the x86 architecture.
