Updated Federal HIPAA Compliance Audit Preparation Tips

Updated Federal HIPAA Compliance Audit Preparation Tips:
The HITECH Act called for HIPAA compliance audits as part of an effort to help ensure compliance with privacy and security provisions. The HHS Office for Civil Rights completed 115 audits in a pilot project in 2012 and has analyzed the results.
How can you help ensure your organization is well-prepared if it's selected for an audit in the next round? The best way is by learning from the experiences of those who've been through the audit experience.
This new webinar will feature updated insights from consultant Mac McMillan, who aided multiple clients with their audits, from start to finish, and had the opportunity to review OCR audit results.
McMillan will chronicle his audit experience and provide insights into how to improve your readiness posture.
In this webinar, you'll learn: What to expect from the audit process;
  • How to use the government's protocol for these assessments to help with preparation efforts;
  • How to apply lessons learned from the results of the first set of audits;
  • How to prepare for the document request requirements;
  • How to get staff ready for successful interaction with the auditors;
  • How to review your information security program to pinpoint weaknesses;
  • How to prepare your audit response;
  • When the audits likely will resume, and how they might evolve.
