Apple may launch updated MacBook Airs as soon as next week:

If you're interested in buying the most up-to-date MacBook Air, you should probably wait for a week. MacRumors points out that French website MacGeneration is citing "reliable sources" to claim that Apple is going to launch an update line of 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Airs next week. As for what this update will mean, MacRumors says "it is likely that a new MacBook Air at this point in time would feature a small speed bump among few other changes."

After multiple reports revealed that the Galaxy S5 is apparently selling better than its predecessor, a new infographic says that the Galaxy S5 has enjoyed better launch sales than the iPhone 5s did a few months ago during its own launch. iQmetrix measured Galaxy S5 sales during its launch weekend, from April 11th to April 13th, sampling over 15,000 stores across North America, and compared them with iPhone 5s sales from September 20th to September 23rd. The company has gathered its data from its RQ Retail Management system that’s used by wireless retailers in North America to process some 14.5 million handset transactions each year.

Notebook sales were still on the decline in the first quarter of the year, Digitimes Research says, although the “on-year declines were the slowest compared to those in the past five quarters,” and some laptop makers have enjoyed renewed success in the business during the period. Even so, it's not clear yet whether the notebook market has started to recover, the publication noted.
