Osram announced a new green LED aimed towards embedded projectors, called the Projection Cube green LED. The new LED offers an luminous efficiency of 110 lm/W, much better than older green LEDs for embedded projectors. They say that this new LED will enable embedded projectors with a brightness of up to 25 lumens.
The new green LED is available in two versions, with a 1mm or 0.75mm edge-length chip (providing a solution for all standard image formats in mobile applications) producing 260 lumens at 700mA and 2.3W or 130 lumens at 350mA and 1.2W, respectively. The footprint of the new chip is 3.8mm x 4.1mm and the height is only 0.6mm.
