AT&T shows a shadow-controlled projected display system:
AT&T just unveiled a new research project called ShadowPuppets: a projected interactive display that uses the shadows created by your hand for control. You can pinch-to-zoom, pan and scroll and simply point to click. Those who've seen it say it works quite well.

The researchers say that shadows are more useful than touchscreens sometimes - when you don't want to be close to the display, for example, when sharing with others or in presentations.
