5 perfectly good screen protectors for the Moto Droid Turbo's 5.2-inch AMOLED display

5 perfectly good screen protectors for the Moto Droid Turbo's 5.2-inch AMOLED display:

Own a Moto Droid Turbo on Verizon? Congratulations - that thing screams! Yes, it's neither THE most powerful flagship right now, nor is its display the most accurate out there, but that thing still packs a mean punch. Games fly, connectivity is fast, and everything looks sharp thanks to that pixel-busting QHD resolution.

Although the Droid Turbo is very well guarded by a tough kevlar-threaded back and a Gorilla Glass 3 front, you will do it a huge favor if you set some spare cash aside for a decent screen protector. G-Glass is great against scratches, but it offers no oil ...

LG is done with glass, begins mass-producing all-plastic flexible OLED displays in July

LG is done with glass, begins mass-producing all-plastic flexible OLED displays in July:

In addition to a successful fiscal quarter, LG Display had the following to report - it's bringing "true flexible" Plastic-OLED screens to the masses this July! But wait, don't we already have these? Yes, the LG G Flex 2 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge are very much a reality, but it turns out bendable displays have ways to go from there! Current flexible OLED screens still have a layer of very thin glass on them, which limits their bending abilities to a 2.95in (75mm) radius. But LG's latest achievements have led to agile screens made entirely of plastic, allowing for almost double the bending radius ...

2015 to be the 'year of Samsung,' says analyst, citing flexible OLEDs and 14nm chips

2015 to be the 'year of Samsung,' says analyst, citing flexible OLEDs and 14nm chips:

Despite that Apple just announced a blowout quarter for the business books, an analyst from the reputable Jefferies & Co. believes that 2015 will actually be the year of the grand Samsung return. So far, Samsung has been unable to really justify its higher-priced handsets in the face of competition from Xiaomi and other up-and-coming brands that offer the same features for much less.

The argument is that this year Samsung will be moving not only its flagships, but its midrangers to mostly metal casings, to which Xiaomi wouldn't have a reply, as it would require some retooling ...

Kevlar-shielded breakthrough could make thinner, safer batteries and slimmer devices a reality

Kevlar-shielded breakthrough could make thinner, safer batteries and slimmer devices a reality:

What's the pathway to thinner batteries that last longer? Good question, as new battery tech could very well be the key to even thinner smartphones and tablets, not to mention more elegant wearables. Well, this team of University of Michigan researchers thinks it has the answer - kevlar! We're used to seeing the tough material in all kinds of unexpected places, but the researchers went for nano-scale development and made special nano-sized kevlar membranes that insulate a lithium-ion battery's electrodes, stifling the growth of metal tendrils that leak current. Simultaneously, it lets those charged ...
