With Xperia Z4 (Z3+), Sony cracks the case of operating the screen on a wet phone:

Waterproof phones are the greatest invention since Ziplock bags, and some, like Sony, even managed to make them thin and slender - a far cry from the fat rugged slabs of yesteryear. There is one annoying issue with a phone that can get wet deeper and longer than others, though, namely the chaotic operation of a touchscreen with water droplets on it. Once the finger slides over a wet portion of the screen, the laws of physics change dramatically, and the touch sensitivity goes all over the place, either failing to register something at all, or responding far from what you intended to do.
