Ira Winkler and Araceli Treu Gomes interviewed Donald Good, deputy assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, after his presentation at the Black Hat CSO Forum. Back in June, we told you about a new 6.8-inch handset from Lenovo that had been certified by China's TENAA agency. The phone has officially been unveiled as the Lenovo Phab Plus and will be available in China from China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom. The Phab Plus will be priced at the equivalent of $406 USD, and there is no word from Lenovo as to whether it will offer the device globally.

The prices for the upcoming Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have leaked out and there are no surprises: it is the same pricing model that Apple has been using in years past. The leak originates from Dutch sources, which also reveal that the official release date for the iPhone 6s will be September 25th (but keep in mind that the Netherlands might get the phone a week after the US, Germany and France, where it is said to arrive on September 18th).

According to newly-released research by CloudLock, which analyzed the behavior of 10 million users during the second quarter of this year, these users are sending out plain-text passwords, sharing files, accidentally downloading malware, clicking on phishing links, using risky applications, reusing passwords, and engaging in other types of dangerous behaviors.

Court: FTC can bring down the hammer on companies with sloppy cybersecurity:

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has the authority to take action against companies that fail to protect customer data, an appeals court ruled Monday.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit upheld the FTC's 2012 lawsuit against hotel and time-share operator Wyndham Worldwide. The FTC filed a complaint against Wyndham for three data breaches in 2008 and 2009 that led to more than US $10.6 million in fraudulent charges.

The appeals court ruling, upholding a 2014 district court decision, suggests the FTC can hold companies responsible for failing to use reasonable security practices.
