It seems like tons of new Android phones come out every month, so last week, we did a poll to find out which phones you guys are using. Here are the results.
Note that, while these should give you a good idea of the most popular phones, we did encounter a few issues with the data. Since the voting was freeform (i.e. it wasn't a multiple choice poll), we weren't able to take into account certain phone variations. A good example is the Samsung Galaxy S, which took 10th place. Most of you just put "Galaxy S", even though the phone comes in many different variations (including the Fascinate, Vibrant, Captivate, and Epic). We left those votes as is, so most fall under "Samsung Galaxy S", but a few of you voted with your actual model. Similarly, we didn't combine results for phones like the Droid and its global counterpart, the Milestone. Not only does this give us a better idea of where you guys are based, but the phones are often different—some things (like ROMs and rooting methods) that work on one variation of a phone won't work on the global version, so we left these as separate categories as well.
The final tallies weren't too surprising, though we didn't know that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was this popular. It easily took the top place in our poll, with the Samsung Galaxy S II trailing well behind it. The rest of the results were more even, with popular phones like the EVO 4G, Droid X, Droid Incredible, and Thunderbolt taking up the rest of the top 10. A few of you are still rocking the Nexus S, too, with all its Google-y goodness.
Above is a breakdown of the percentages, showing how our readership is divided up amongst phones. A big chunk of the graph is dedicated to phones not on the list, but that's to be expected, since there are so many different devices out there.
