Despite record number of smartphone activations, Verizon loses $1.93 billion in Q4: Verizon reported adding 2.1 million new post-paid subscribers in the fourth quarter and activated a record number of smartphones in the quarter, but despite all this, the nation's largest carrier reported a loss of $1.93 billion for the three month period due to charges related to Hurricane Sandy; minus the charges, Verizon made 45 cents a share in profit, below expectations of 52 cents a share...
