Google CEO vows to fix Nexus 4 supply shortages
Google CEO vows to fix Nexus 4 supply shortages:
Google’s (GOOG) flagship Nexus 4 smartphone has remained out of stock since it first launched. Executives from LG, the smartphone’s manufacturer, and Google have pointed fingers at one another and claimed the demand caught them off guard. With a carrier-unlocked price starting at $299, however, what did they expect? During the company’s earnings call on Tuesday, Google CEO Larry Page addressed the smartphone’s supply woes, Phandroid reported. While he didn’t get into specifics, Page said it is a priority to fix the Nexus 4′s supply constraints. It is unclear just how much Google can actually do to help LG (006570) and Samsung (005930), the manufacturer of the Nexus 10 tablet, to manufacturer more devices, though.
