LG's Display division produces 3 times more screens for the iPhone than its own smartphones:
A new report by iHS-owned DisplaySearch, published earlier today, claims that LG's Display division has climbed up to the second spot on an important rank list: that of manufacturers supplying panels to Apple for the iPhone. Apparently, the South Korea-based company's displays accounted for 34.5% of total global iPhone shipments in Q1, or 24.2 million units, leapfrogging Sharp's 29.6%. The number one panel supplier is now JDI Display, with a share of 35.9%.
