Google to launch new Nexus 7 with 3G in mid-October:
Following the success Google (GOOG) has seen with the current version of its Nexus 7 tablet, the software giant turned hardware peddler is reportedly planning a second version of the slate that will launch in roughly six weeks. MoDaCo’s well-connected Paul O’Brien issued a brief report on Sunday stating that a 3G-enabled version of Google’s popular $200 tablet is already being built. Manufacturing partner ASUS (2357) is currently ramping up manufacturing for a launch in approximately six weeks according to the report, which would place the tablet’s release some time in mid-October. BGR reviewed the Nexus 7 on video in July and called it the best low-cost tablet money can buy.
