Google’s market cap passes Microsoft’s for the first time:

Microsoft (MSFT) isn’t just looking up at Apple (AAPL) anymore. Bloomberg this morning sent out a notice on its Twitter account that Google (GOOG) had passed Microsoft’s total market cap for the first time ever on Monday morning, giving the search giant the second-largest market capitalization of any tech company in the world. Google closed Monday trading with a market cap of $249.13 billion or just under $2 billion more than Microsoft’s market cap of $247.23. Both companies still have a long way to go to catch Apple and its massive market cap of more than $618 billion, however.
