Commentary: Taiwan touch panel makers to see shipments to PC segment soar in 2013: Due to continuing success for Apple's iPhone 5, which uses in-cell embedded touch panel technology that is largely from Japan-based makers, G/G shipments from Taiwan-based touch panel makers such as TPK and Wintek took a hit in 2012. However, due to the release of Windows 8 near the end of the year, the Taiwan-based makers are looking forward to new business opportunities in the notebook market in 2013, which will most likely allow them to make up for missed opportunities in the handset market.
