Apple reportedly ramps up iPad mini production ahead of October launch
Apple reportedly ramps up iPad mini production ahead of October launch:
Apple (AAPL) has yet to confirm the existence of its “iPad mini,” but a new report suggests the company is already planning for a blockbuster launch. Citing unnamed sources within Apple’s supply chain, Digitimes on Tuesday reported that production of Apple’s shrunken slate will ramp up to 4 million units per month beginning in September ahead of a rumored October launch. The iPad mini may be unveiled alongside Apple’s “iPhone 5” during a press conference next month, and it is expected to retail for $249 or $299.
