Due to inventory adjustments and the strong US dollar, some brands decided to increase monitor set prices and wait for a revised market demand forecast, according to DisplaySearch. Panel makers faced difficulties promoting and pushing out monitor panels in April. Overall, price pressures became heavier, with prices reducing by more than US$1 and more concession deals. Some brands will start refilling monitor panels, preparing for a possible rise in TV demand during the third quarter of 2015. Monitor panel prices are expected to continue downward in May, but demand for panels will return in May and June to avoid a panel constraint during the traditional third-quarter hot season.
